Working Hours & Shift Pattern

  • Full-time position
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Shifts worked within standard nursery operating hours
  • No regular weekend work required
  • Breaks provided during shifts

Job Description
As a Toddler Room Leader, you will take the lead within a well-established Montessori-inspired nursery setting, supporting toddlers’ development through engaging, child-led learning experiences in line with EYFS standards. The nursery provides a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, develop independence, build confidence, and learn through meaningful play. Located in Sunningdale, Berkshire (SL5), the nursery offers a supportive and collaborative workplace with a strong focus on creating exceptional experiences for children and families. This Nursery Room Leader role would suit a confident and experienced early years professional who thrives in a leadership position and is passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily running of the toddler room
  • Plan and deliver engaging EYFS-based activities and learning experiences
  • Support, mentor, and guide junior team members within the room
  • Ensure high standards of care, safety, and safeguarding are maintained
  • Monitor and assess children’s progress, maintaining accurate records
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers
  • Maintain a stimulating, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted and regulatory requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the wider nursery team and management
  • Promote positive behaviour and support toddlers’ emotional development

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working within a toddler room or room leader role
  • Strong understanding of EYFS and early years frameworks
  • Ability to lead a room and deliver high-quality childcare and education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with families and colleagues
  • Confident working independently and managing a team environment
