Salary
£29,000–£30,000 per annum, dependent on experience + benefits.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time, permanent – 40 hours per week
Wembley, HA9
- Shift work scheduled between 7:30am and 6:00pm
- Room-based leadership responsibility within the toddler provision
- Protected non-contact time provided each week
- Work closely with colleagues and families to support children's individual routines and development

Job Description
As a Room Leader (Toddlers), you will lead the day-to-day delivery of high-quality childcare within a welcoming Montessori nursery in Wembley, HA9. Working as a Toddler Room Leader, you will create a safe, stimulating and carefully prepared environment where children can explore, make choices and develop confidence at their own pace.
You will combine the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with Montessori principles, supporting hands-on learning, practical life experiences, language development and collaborative play. This role is ideal for an experienced childcare professional who enjoys leading others, building positive family relationships and maintaining consistently high standards across learning, care, safeguarding and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the toddler room and support the team to provide consistent, nurturing and child-centred care
- Plan and deliver engaging activities informed by the EYFS, Montessori principles and each child's interests
- Create an organised, accessible environment that encourages exploration, choice and growing independence
- Support toddlers' communication, physical, social and emotional development through age-appropriate experiences
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate learning records and identifying meaningful next steps
- Work closely with parents and carers, sharing updates and building trusting partnerships
- Guide, support and model strong practice for nursery practitioners
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, welfare, hygiene, health and safety
- Support individual routines, transitions and emotional wellbeing
- Contribute positively to staff training, room development and the wider nursery culture
Requirements
- You must be able to demonstrate your right to work in the UK
- Level 3 childcare or early years qualification, or above
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early years environment, ideally with room leadership responsibilities
- Knowledge of toddler development, the EYFS and child-centred early years practice; Montessori experience is advantageous
- Ability to lead a room while maintaining high standards of care, learning and documentation
- Excellent communication skills with children, families and colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively while managing daily room responsibilities independently
