Recruit by Nature is seeking an experienced Room Leader to join a welcoming early years nursery team in Ealing. This is an exciting opportunity to lead practice in the Babies Room while supporting children to learn, develop and thrive through purposeful play and high-quality EYFS provision.

Salary
£29,500 to £30,000 per year, depending on experience and suitability.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
The nursery is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year. The setting closes for one week between Christmas and New Year. Individual shift arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Job Description
As Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the daily organisation and delivery of high-quality care and learning within the Babies Room. You will lead a small team, build strong relationships with children and families, and create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can make progress.

The nursery setting provides a home-from-home environment with a strong focus on the Early Years Foundation Stage, child-led learning, outdoor play and supporting children’s communication, physical development and personal, social and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Babies Room
  • Provide attentive, responsive and nurturing care for babies
  • Plan and deliver purposeful, child-led learning opportunities
  • Support children’s development in line with the EYFS framework
  • Observe, assess and accurately record children’s progress
  • Lead and support practitioners within the room
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment
  • Promote communication, independence and confidence through play
  • Contribute to outdoor learning and the wider nursery programme

Essential Requirements

  • You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • You hold a Level 3 early years qualification, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • You have relevant experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
  • You have experience caring for and supporting babies or very young children.
  • You can lead practice and support high-quality care and learning in line with the EYFS.
  • You are a warm, reliable and effective communicator who works well with children, families and colleagues.
  • You can work independently, use initiative and take responsibility for the daily running of the room.
  • Also suitable for: experienced Nursery Practitioners, Early Years Educators and Early Years Practitioners ready to progress into a Room Leader position.
