Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week.
Based in Wembley, HA9.

  • 40 contracted hours each week
  • Shift work scheduled between 7:30am and 6:00pm
  • Monday-to-Friday nursery environment
  • Room-based position combining leadership with hands-on childcare practice
  • All-year-round setting operating for 51 weeks of the year

Job Description
As a Nursery Quality Lead, you will be based within a welcoming Montessori nursery in Wembley, HA9, supporting the delivery of nurturing, child-centred care and high-quality early education. This is a hands-on, room-based early years leadership role for an experienced childcare professional who wants to remain closely involved in daily nursery practice while helping colleagues maintain consistently high standards. You will support an environment where children aged from three months to five years can develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning.

The nursery combines Montessori principles with the EYFS, offering creative learning resources, spacious outdoor areas and a broad range of engaging experiences. You will play an important part in maintaining a secure, stimulating and inclusive environment that responds to each child’s individual needs while strengthening nursery quality across the setting. This opportunity would suit a confident early years leader who can model excellent practice, communicate constructively with colleagues and families, and support continuous improvement across the nursery. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and model consistently high standards of room-based early years practice
  • Support the effective delivery of the EYFS within a Montessori-led environment
  • Help colleagues plan stimulating, child-centred learning experiences
  • Promote children’s confidence, independence and individual development
  • Monitor practice and identify opportunities to strengthen nursery quality
  • Coach, guide and support practitioners in their day-to-day responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for children and families
  • Build positive and professional relationships with parents, carers and colleagues
  • Support safeguarding, welfare, documentation and regulatory standards
  • Contribute to reflective practice and continuous improvement throughout the nursery

Requirements

  • Sponsorship / right to work: Applicants must be able to meet the relevant UK right-to-work requirements for this permanent position
  • Qualification: Level 3 early years or childcare qualification or above
  • Experience level: Previous experience in a senior, leadership or quality-focused nursery position
  • Specialism: Strong understanding of early years practice, with an interest in Montessori education
  • Capability: Able to lead by example, maintain quality standards and support effective room practice
  • Soft skill: Warm, professional and confident communicator who can build positive relationships
  • Independence: Comfortable managing responsibilities, making informed decisions and remaining actively involved in the nursery room
