Job Description
As a Nursery Room Leader, you will deliver high-quality early years practice within a nursery setting in Guildford, Surrey, GU1. You will support children’s learning, development, safety and wellbeing while helping the team maintain strong EYFS standards. The role involves working closely with colleagues, children, parents and professional partners in a supportive, family-feel environment. The setting provides care and early education for children from 3 months to 5 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the team to grow and perform to a high standard.
• Ensure legislation and EYFS frameworks are followed.
• Create inspirational, creative and effective learning environments.
• Promote the safety and welfare of children through confident safeguarding practice.
• Implement the EYFS with a good understanding of child development.
• Work in partnership with parents and professional partners.
• Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, colleagues and visitors.
• Complete clear and accurate records and reports.
• Promote high-quality practice, environments and resources.
• Report concerns to a senior team member or relevant service where required.

Essential Requirements

• You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
• A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• At least two years’ experience working as a Nursery Practitioner or similar in an Early Years setting.
• Experience within a nursery or Early Years setting supporting children’s learning and development.
• Confidence applying the EYFS, safeguarding procedures and child development knowledge in daily practice.
• A positive, nurturing and collaborative approach.
• The ability to work responsibly within the nursery team and maintain accurate records.
