Recruit by Nature is seeking a caring and committed Nursery Practitioner to join the welcoming early years team at a nursery in Horsham. This is an excellent opportunity to support children to play, learn and grow through high-quality care, purposeful activities and EYFS-guided learning.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
The nursery is open from 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year. The nursery setting closes for one week between Christmas and New Year. Individual shift arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Job Description
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will provide high-quality care and support children’s learning and development within a safe, nurturing and stimulating EYFS environment. You will work closely with colleagues and families to help children build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy positive early learning experiences.

The Horsham setting offers enriching indoor and outdoor learning spaces, a home-from-home atmosphere and a holistic approach to early years education. You will support child-centred activities, curiosity, creativity and children’s progress through play and exploration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, responsive and attentive care for children
  • Support children with daily routines, learning and development
  • Support children’s development in line with the EYFS framework
  • Plan and deliver purposeful play and learning activities
  • Observe, assess and record children’s progress accurately
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Support children’s communication, language and physical development
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive social development
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and outdoor learning
  • Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment

Essential Requirements

  • You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • You hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or an equivalent recognised subject.
  • You have relevant experience working in a nursery, childcare or early years setting.
  • You have experience supporting children’s care, learning and development.
  • You can contribute to EYFS practice through purposeful play, observation and daily routines.
  • You are caring, reliable and able to communicate effectively with children, families and colleagues.
  • You can work independently, use initiative and follow safeguarding and nursery procedures.
  • Also suitable for: Nursery Nurses, Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Educators, Childcare Practitioners, Childcare Assistants and Nursery Assistants.
