Nursery Practitioner (Level 2) – Egham, Surrey, TW20
Join a friendly, child-centred nursery in Egham, Surrey, TW20, as a Nursery Practitioner (Level 2), supporting children aged 0 to 5 through high-quality childcare and early years education. Employment Type

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time, permanent position

  • Daytime shifts within core nursery operating hours

Job Description
As a Nursery Practitioner (Level 2), you will deliver high-quality childcare and early years education within a welcoming nursery in Egham. Supporting children aged 0 to 5, you will contribute to engaging activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), help maintain a warm and inclusive learning environment and work closely with experienced colleagues. This nurseries & early years position is well suited to a caring practitioner who understands child development, safeguarding and the importance of consistent, nurturing childcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children's learning, development and play under the guidance of Level 3 practitioners
  • Help prepare and deliver engaging activities planned by senior practitioners
  • Assist children with daily routines including meals, hygiene, naps and transitions
  • Observe children and contribute appropriately to observations of their learning and development
  • Follow EYFS plans and support the delivery of age-appropriate learning experiences
  • Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming and nurturing nursery environment
  • Communicate positively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive nursery team
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and promptly report concerns to senior staff
  • Support children's wellbeing, independence and positive relationships throughout the nursery day

Essential Requirements

  • You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • A full and relevant Level 2 qualification in Early Years or Childcare is essential.
  • Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development is required. Ofsted knowledge, child protection training or paediatric first aid would be desirable.
  • You should be able to support planned activities, children's daily routines and observations while following established EYFS plans.
  • You will be warm, patient and confident, with strong communication skills and a positive approach to teamwork.
  • You should be comfortable working effectively as part of a nursery team and contributing reliably across a full-time rota.
