Salary
£26,166 per annum, increasing to to £27,206 per annum on 1st April + benefits

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
4 long days. Shifts are worked within the Nursery’s operational hours, with breaks included during the day. Some flexibility may be available depending on the needs of the setting, and shift patterns will be discussed during the interview process.

Job Description
We are recruiting a confident and inspiring Room Leader to join a welcoming early years, Pre-School setting in Lincoln (LN6). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to lead a preschool room, support a team to deliver exceptional early education, and help children thrive as they prepare for their next steps. As a Pre-School Room Leader, you will lead the day-to-day running of the preschool room, creating a warm, structured, and inspiring environment where children can develop key skills through play-based learning. You’ll guide a small team, plan engaging activities aligned with the EYFS, and ensure every child receives outstanding care and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the preschool team to deliver high-quality early education and care
• Plan, deliver and evaluate stimulating activities aligned with the EYFS framework
• Create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment that supports school readiness
• Support children’s emotional wellbeing, communication and independence
• Carry out observations, assessments and next steps to support learning and progress
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to learning journeys and documentation
• Build strong partnerships with parents/carers through daily feedback and professional communication
• Ensure safeguarding, health & safety and nursery policies are followed at all times
• Work collaboratively with management and colleagues to maintain excellent standards across the setting

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (essential)
• Previous experience working within a Pre-School, Nursery or Early Years setting
• Experience leading a room or acting as a senior practitioner (highly desirable)
• Strong working knowledge of the EYFS and child development
• Confident planning activities and supporting children’s learning through play
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements
• Ability to reliably commute to Lincoln (LN6)
