Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time, 40 hours per week,
- Rota basis across the week Mon – Fri, all year round.
- Shifts may vary to meet the needs of the setting, with scheduled breaks included throughout the day.
- Occasional flexibility may be required to support operational needs.
Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Level 3 practitioner to step into a Nursery Room Leader role within a warm nursery in West Drayton. As a Room Leader you will lead a dedicated team, create enriching learning experiences, and help maintain a nurturing, child-focused environment where children thrive. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early years education, confident in leading others, and motivated by delivering high-quality care and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team within your room to deliver exceptional care and education
- Plan, prepare, and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Ensure the welfare, safety, and safeguarding of all children at all times
- Build strong relationships with families, Nursery staff and maintain open communication
- Oversee daily room operations, routines, and activity timetables
- Complete observations, assessments, and curriculum planning
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold regulatory compliance
- Support staff development through coaching and role modelling
- Collaborate with senior leaders to enhance the learning environment
- Promote high standards of hygiene, health, and safety across the room
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) – essential
- Previous experience as a Room Leader or Senior Nursery Practitioner preferred
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confidence in planning, assessment, and key person responsibilities
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare
- Warm, professional approach with a passion for early years education
- Reliable transport or ability to commute to West Drayton (UB7)
