Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Rota basis across Monday to Friday, all year round
- Shift times vary to meet nursery needs, with scheduled breaks included
- Occasional flexibility may be required to support operational needs
Job Description:
We’re recruiting a confident, experienced Level 3 Early Years Room Leader to join a welcoming nursery in Sipson, West Drayton (UB7). This Room Leader job is ideal for a passionate early years professional ready to lead a busy nursery room, deliver high-quality EYFS practice, and support children’s learning and development in a warm, child-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support a team to deliver outstanding childcare and early education
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned to the EYFS curriculum
- Act as a strong role model, promoting best practice in teaching, learning, and child development
- Ensure excellent standards of safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety across the room
- Manage daily routines, staffing, and room organisation to maintain a calm, consistent environment
- Complete observations, assessments, and next steps to support progress and outcomes for every child
- Build positive relationships with parents/carers, providing clear communication and updates
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with nursery policies and regulatory requirements
- Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and supervision
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent in Childcare) – essential
- Experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, or Early Years Senior role – preferred
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development milestones
- Confidence with planning, assessments, and key person responsibilities
- Good understanding of Ofsted expectations and Early Years safeguarding requirements
- Professional, warm approach with a genuine passion for early years education and childcare
- Ability to commute to Sipson, West Drayton (UB7)
