Job Description
As a Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN), you will be working in a care home in Pontypridd, CF37, supporting residents who require round-the-clock general nursing care, including people living with dementia. The nursing home is set in a quiet residential area with countryside views and an enclosed garden, creating a calm and welcoming environment for residents, families and staff. As a Registered Nurse, you will assess care needs, deliver direct nursing care, maintain care plans, administer medication safely and support residents to receive high-quality, compassionate care every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess residents’ nursing, social and healthcare needs and provide direct nursing care when required
- Maintain ongoing assessments and reviews of residents’ care needs
- Complete and update care plans with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals
- Administer prescribed medicines safely and document in line with company procedure and NMC guidelines
- Support residents with dignity, independence and individual choice as key care priorities
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues and multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise, guide and support junior and new staff members within the care home
- Attend mandatory training and contribute to high standards of clinical practice
- Maintain accurate clinical records and provide administrative support when required
- Work closely with local GPs and clinical professionals to support resident wellbeing
Requirements
- Sponsorship / right to work: You must have the right to work in the UK
- Qualification: Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with valid NMC registration
- Experience level: Suitable for nurses with experience delivering care in a clinical or care home setting
- Specialism: Nursing home, general nursing care and dementia care experience would be valuable
- Capability: Confident assessing care needs, maintaining care plans and administering medication safely
- Soft skill: Compassionate, professional and able to communicate clearly with residents, relatives and colleagues
- Independence: Able to work responsibly, use initiative and support junior team members
