Salary
£25,937.60–£32,406.40 per annum (pro-rata) | £12.47–£15.58 per hour + benefits

Working Hours & Shift Pattern

  • Permanent role – 18 to 40 hours per week
  • Full and part-time options available (2–5 days per week)
  • Varied shift patterns Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 18:30
  • No weekend working required
  • Full-year contract (52 weeks per annum)
  • Shifts arranged on a rota basis with flexibility where possible
  • Suitable for both full-time and part-time applicants

Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate and qualified Nursery Practitioner (Level 2 or above) to join a supportive, high-quality early years nursery setting in Headington, Oxford (OX3). Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and early education for children aged 0–5
  • Act as a Key Person, supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress through play-based learning
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers through daily communication
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent practice across the setting
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to developmental reviews
  • Promote safeguarding, ensuring children feel valued, secure, and supported
  • Uphold compliance with Early Years regulations and quality standards

Requirements

  • DfE-approved Early Years qualification at Level 3 (essential)
  • Experience working within a nursery or early years childcare setting
  • Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship required)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development milestones
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in line with Ofsted and EYFS Statutory requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, supportive environment

  • Must live within commutable distance of Headington, Oxford (OX3)
