Working Hours & Shift Pattern

  • Part-time role, term-time only
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 1:00pm
  • 25 hours per week 
  • No weekends, no late shifts
  • Stable and consistent weekly schedule

Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Nursery Assistant Manager to join a warm, nurturing early years, nursery environment in Staines, Surrey (TW18). The nursery provides high-quality childcare and education in a supportive, child-centred atmosphere where staff are valued and encouraged to grow. This Nursery Assistant Manager role would suit a confident Level 3 qualified early years professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for outstanding practice, and the ability to inspire others. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day leadership and smooth running of the nursery provision
  • Lead, mentor, and guide early years practitioners to deliver outstanding childcare
  • Ensure high-quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider team
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards
  • Promote a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for all children
  • Support staff development through coaching and positive role modelling
  • Contribute to planning, observations, and child progress documentation
  • Help implement inclusive practice tailored to individual children’s needs

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (essential)
  • Significant experience in a Nursery Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, or Room Leader role
  • Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship required) 
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted expectations
  • Up to date DBS required 
  • A calm, professional, and nurturing approach to supporting children and staff
  • Ability to work effectively within a structured term-time schedule
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding early years education and care
  • Also suitable for: Deputy Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager, Room Leader, Third in Charge, Early Years Senior Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Supervisor.
