Working Hours & Shift Pattern

  • Full-time or 0.94 FTE position
  • Monday to Friday teaching schedule
  • Standard school hours with planning and preparation time
  • Participation in occasional school events as required
  • No regular weekend requirement
  • Fixed-term maternity cover from June to December (subject to change)

Job Description
As a Maths Teacher, you will be working within a high-performing independent school in Bristol (BS9), delivering engaging and structured mathematics lessons to students across key stages within a supportive and academically ambitious setting. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons across relevant key stages
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school standards
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a range of learning abilities and needs
  • Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment
  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and wider school staff
  • Participate in school meetings, training, and development sessions
  • Uphold safeguarding and professional teaching standards at all times

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS or equivalent)
  • Enhanced DBS check or be registered on the update DBS service 
  • Open to early career and experienced teachers
  • Strong subject knowledge within Mathematics
  • Ability to deliver high-quality and engaging lessons
  • Excellent communication skills with a student-centred approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage teaching responsibilities effectively
