Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time, permanent and all year round.
Egham, TW20.
- Monday-to-Friday nursery provision.
- Flexible shifts scheduled between 7:30am and 6:00pm.
- You must be available to work throughout the year rather than during term time only.
- Work within an established nursery team caring for babies, toddlers and pre-school-aged children.
- Contribute to consistent care, purposeful learning and smooth daily nursery routines.
Job Description
As a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, you will deliver high-quality care and early education within a calm, stimulating nursery in Egham. The setting supports children from infancy through to pre-school, with age-appropriate rooms designed around each stage of development. Practice is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a strong focus on emotional security, purposeful learning through play, outdoor experiences, school readiness and genuine partnerships with parents. You will plan meaningful experiences that build children's confidence, curiosity, independence and communication while developing your own practice within nurseries & early years and building a long-term career in childcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care and purposeful learning in line with the EYFS framework.
- Build warm, consistent key-person relationships that help children feel emotionally secure.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children's interests and developmental needs.
- Observe children's progress, maintain accurate learning records and identify meaningful next steps.
- Support children's communication, physical, social and emotional development through everyday play and routines.
- Promote independence, curiosity, confidence and positive relationships between children.
- Communicate openly with parents and carers through daily updates, progress discussions and supportive handovers.
- Maintain a safe, clean, inclusive and well-organised learning environment.
- Follow safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and nursery policies at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to team meetings, training and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
- A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare or an equivalent UK-recognised qualification.
- Previous experience supporting children within a nursery, pre-school or early years setting is desirable.
- A sound understanding of the EYFS and the ability to promote children's learning, wellbeing and development through purposeful play.
- Confident in planning activities, completing observations, identifying next steps, maintaining safe routines and communicating with families.
- A warm, patient and dependable approach, with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to children's care.
- Able to manage day-to-day responsibilities independently while contributing fully to a collaborative nursery team.
