Working Hours & Shift Pattern

• Full-time position
• Monday to Friday shift pattern
• Rotational shifts within nursery opening hours
• Occasional flexibility required to support operational needs
• Breaks provided in line with working time regulations
• No regular weekend work

Job Description
An established, child-focused early years setting in Harrow, Middlesex (HA2) is seeking a confident and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the day to day leadership of a nurturing and inspiring environment. This is a room-based leadership role, ideal for a passionate Early Years professional who thrives in a hands-on setting while supporting wider operational excellence. The setting offers a calm, welcoming environment with a strong focus on child-led learning, creativity, and holistic development. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care and education while inspiring their team and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the setting
• Lead and inspire a designated room, ensuring high-quality teaching and care
• Ensure compliance with EYFS statutory framework and safeguarding procedures
• Monitor planning, observations, and assessments to maintain high standards
• Support staff development through mentoring and performance guidance
• Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
• Oversee health and safety standards across the room and wider setting
• Assist with staffing ratios, rota planning, and operational organisation
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (essential)
• Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship required) 
• Previous experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager, Room Leader, or Senior Early Years / Nursery Practitioner
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
• Experience supporting Ofsted inspections and maintaining compliance
• Confident leadership and team mentoring skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Suitable for: Deputy Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager, Nursery Deputy Manager, Early Years Deputy Manager, or Senior Room Leader
