Introduction

We are recruiting for an experienced and clinically strong Clinical Lead Nurse to join a well-established nursing home in Horsham, West Sussex. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a structured split between clinical and leadership responsibilities, ideal for a senior nurse ready to step into a key leadership role.

The Role

As Clinical Lead Nurse, you will work 37.5 hours per week, with a balanced role consisting of 18 hours on the floor delivering hands-on nursing care and 19.5 hours in a supernumerary, office-based leadership capacity. You will support the Home Manager in maintaining high clinical standards, providing leadership to the nursing team, and ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care throughout the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strong clinical leadership and oversight across the nursing team
• Deliver high-quality nursing care during allocated clinical shifts
• Support and mentor nurses and care staff to maintain excellent standards of care
• Oversee clinical governance, audits, care planning, and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards, policies, and procedures
• Act as a senior clinical point of contact within the home
• Work closely with the management team to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Registered Nurse qualification with a valid NMC PIN (RGN / RMN / RNLD)
• Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse within a nursing home setting
• Strong clinical knowledge with confident leadership and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, organisational, and team management abilities
• A proactive, professional approach with a commitment to high-quality elderly care
