Introduction

We are recruiting for an experienced and clinically strong Clinical Deputy Manager to join a well-established nursing home in Yapton, West Sussex. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a structured balance between hands-on nursing care and supernumerary leadership responsibilities, ideal for a senior nurse ready to take the next step into management.

The Role

As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will work 37.5 hours per week, with 18 hours on the floor delivering direct nursing care and 19.5 hours in a supernumerary, office-based leadership role. You will support the Home Manager with the day-to-day clinical and operational running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, strong clinical governance, and a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in the clinical and operational leadership of the nursing home
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care during allocated clinical shifts
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and support to nurses and care staff
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, audits, and clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, policies, and best practice guidelines
  • Act as a senior clinical point of contact within the home
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification with a valid NMC PIN (RGN / RMN / RNLD)
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse within a nursing home setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge with confident leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and team leadership abilities
  • A professional, compassionate approach with a commitment to high-quality elderly care
