Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Day shifts within nursery opening hours
- Breaks provided in line with setting policy
- Overtime available where agreed
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and experienced Level 3 Room Leader to join a warm, well-established nursery in Woodford. You will lead the babies and toddlers room, providing high-quality care, strong EYFS practice, and a nurturing, stimulating environment where children can thrive. The setting offers excellent training, a positive team culture and clear opportunities for progression. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, caring and committed to delivering outstanding early years experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the babies’ room, ensuring outstanding EYFS practice and safeguarding standards
- Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging, age-appropriate activities that support early development
- Support, mentor and guide Nursery Practitioners and Early Years Educators
- Build strong relationships with parents through daily feedback and open communication
- Ensure robust health & safety, risk assessments and Ofsted compliance
- Maintain accurate observations, assessments and learning journals
- Promote children’s emotional wellbeing, independence and positive behaviour
- Contribute to room planning, team discussions and continuous quality improvement
- Work collaboratively within the wider early years team to uphold high-quality practice
Requirements
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years (e.g., EYE, Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse)
- Experience working within an early years setting, ideally in a room leader or senior practitioner role
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and child development
- Confident, warm communicator with strong organisational skills
- Proactive, caring attitude with a passion for providing outstanding early education
