Introduction:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager for a private hospital (private healthcare) setting in Baldock. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support high-quality patient care while providing strong ward leadership on day shifts, instrumental in fostering a safe and compassionate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key leadership role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients.
- Support the Ward Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth running of the ward.
- Lead and motivate a skilled team of nurses and healthcare staff.
- Contribute to clinical governance and service improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Support Service Lead in managing sickness and absence on a shift basis and in the absence of the Ward in line with policy, in partnership with HR and the principles of safe staffing.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff, including interview panels and formal induction programme.
- Liaise with service lead when reviewing ward basic protocol
- To be scheduled for weekly on call duty at least once a month
- Attend service improvement meetings such as clinical improvement , restrictive practice , team meeting and other practice review meeting as scheduled
Requirements:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or RNLD with active NMC registration
- Experience in a leadership role within a mental health setting.
- Strong clinical and communication skills.
- Sound IT skills
- A passion for improving mental health care services.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working as a nurse in a mental health setting.
- Experience in OPMH care or PICU is desirable
- You must have outstanding communication skills, excellent clinical skills and be motivated to offer the highest standards of care.
