Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Monday–Friday between core nursery (Egham site) operating hours.
- Occasional flexibility may be required to support ratios or leadership needs.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager or a strong Room Leader stepping up to join a warm, nurturing Nursery in Egham, Surrey. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire staff to create a high-quality, child-focused learning environment
- Support the Nursery Manager in daily operations, staffing, and rota planning
- Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance standards are consistently met
- Model outstanding practice in EYFS delivery and child development
- Build strong relationships with families, providing clear communication and support
- Guide staff performance through coaching, mentoring and supervisions
- Monitor room quality, documentation, observations and curriculum planning
- Assist with recruitment, enrolments, and parent tours when required
- Promote an inclusive environment supporting children with diverse needs
- Lead by example in maintaining a positive, proactive team culture
Requirements
- Level 3 or above in Early Years (NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent)
- Previous Deputy Manager – Nursery experience or strong Room Leader experience acting up
- Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and guide teams with a supportive approach
- Passion for child-led learning, outdoor play and nurturing environments
- Ability to start as soon as possible as a Early Years Deputy Manager or with a short notice period
